Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Pt. 2 Chapter 16

[CHAPTER SIXTEEN: PRIDE'S HIDE-OUT]

Mustang pulled out his flashlight and turned it on. Though he knew it was dangerous. "Sir, the shadows." Riza whispers warning her lover about the possible danger. "Yes I know Hawkeye, I'll be careful" Mustang replies.
As they precede feather in the other soldiers seem to grow more and more tense. "Turn back if you're uncomfortable…" Mustang orders the men. Not because he felt for them, but because he wanted to protect as many lives as he could. Some of the men turned around but a couple held their grounds and stayed with Mustang and Hawkeye.
As Mustang walked feather inside he noticed a light. As they walked closer to the light Mustang noticed that is was a hole in the ceiling of the tunnel.  As he walked under the light he heard a yell for help. He thought it came from deeper inside the tunnel, but then something fell on him. "Ouch…" He said. The thing that fell on top of him repeated the word and then rolled off. "Brother!" the voice came from the ceiling. When Mustang got up he turned to see what fell on him, it was Ed. "Fullmetal?" He said. "Hey Mustang, just thought I'd drop in and see how things were going…" Ed replied. Overhead Mustang heard Alphonse giving the soldiers orders to find Ling and Lan Fan. Then they heard footsteps running further away. "Hey brother! Are you alright?" Alphonse said from above. "Ya Al I'm fine!" Ed yelled back. When Mustang looked up again he say feet coming in from the ceiling light. Alphonse then jumped down, landing on top of his brother. "Al could give us some warning next time!" Ed yelled. "Heh heh, sorry brother…" Al replied as he rubbed the back of his neck, smiling.
"Can we get moving now, and stop this circus act!?" Mustang ordered. "Sorry sir…" Alphonse said. Ed got up onto his feet and started following his brother and Mustang. Riza smiled trying to hold in her laughter at the whole situation. As the group continued further into the tunnel Mustang turned back on his flashlight. Edward noticed and decided to say something, but before he could Mustang cut him off. "Yes I know Fullmetal, the shadows… I'd rather see and take the risk then fall and endanger everyone's limbs. We don't need any broken."
"I'd rather break a leg then be stabbed by a shadow dagger!" Edward replied, yelling quietly. Though Mustang knew he was right he didn't want to prove Edward right. Just then Mustang felt a hand on his sleeve. He looked down, it was Riza. "Sir… please…" She asked Mustang. Mustang sighed and then flicked off the flashlight.
The tunnels were pitch black and everyone was tripping over stones every few minutes it seemed like. "Happy now Fullmetal?" Mustang asked in an irritated voice.  Edward didn't answer. "Fullmetal?" Mustang asked again. "Yeah I'm here!" Ed replied finally. Alphonse laughed from behind. All of a sudden there was another light that appeared in front of the group. "It's probably just another hole in the ceiling." Mustang assured everyone.
When the crew got closer they realised that the light wasn't a ceiling light at all but instead a flame from a room. "Is this the end?" Al asked. "I guess so Al…" Ed replied. "Hold up…" Mustang said as he held up his hand to block everyone. "What is it?" Hawkeye asked. Mustang pointed towards the light. In the light sat a little boy at a makeshift desk.
Just then the little boy turned around and looked at them. "Welcome to my hide out…" He said smiling. Just as he said that the shadow blade arose from behind him. "Would you like to play?" Pride asked. Mustang snapped his fingers and sent a flame towards Pride. Pride dodged it. "That wasn't very nice King Mustang… I might have to kill you now." Pride sent a blade towards Mustang, but just as the blade was going to hit Mustang, Edward threw his Automail leg into its path.
"Oh so I see you have come to Edward Elric…" Pride said in response. "How convenient!" Pride sent a blade towards Ed at full speed. Edward clapped his hands together and through up a wall to block the speeding blade. But it failed. The blade got Edward directly in the right arm. "Brother!" Alphonse yelled. Pride smiled.
